The Harlem Huskies wrestling club will build character, confidence, and discipline which makes it easier for the athlete to focus and excel while making the right decision both on and off the mat.

We do this by offering a year round program the addresses the needs and issues that many of our youth are facing today.  We motivate and mentor our athlete as we give them life session while progressing in the great sport of wrestling.  We introduce each athlete to our six stage progression chart.  We encourage each athlete to reach the next level in our wrestling system.  Our goal is to ensure that each and every athlete learn the correct skills and techniques before graduating to the next stage in our program.

After the athlete has successfully completed all seven stages they can graduate from their training group.  The athlete will be placed into a different training group where they can learn the next set of skills.
We Build Strong Mind While Building Strong Bodies!

Why start a wrestling club?

As a clinician, coach, and parent I have seen all too many times where kids who could have made great wrestlers are left behind or lost in the shuffle. This happens at summer wrestling camps, wrestling clubs, high school and even college. Often times these athletes grow up disliking the sport and eventually quitting.

Some organizations see our kids as an easy way to make a profit instead of actually taking the time to ensure that each and every athlete has learned the basic fundamental skills and correct techniques in our sport.

As a concerned parent I don't want my children to suffer this same fate. This is what I do, and have been doing since the third grade. I love the sport and I want to make a difference to make sure the sport survives.

So I started The Northern Illinois Wrestling Academy & Harlem Huskies Wrestling Club to educate our children and coaches in the sport of wrestling. If my children so choose to participate in the sport of wrestling, I want to able to sleep at night knowing that I did everything in my power to help my children excel in this sport and provide the community with the same opportunities.
